I don't know what all the fuss is about. The locals love this place. As far as I'm concerned it's mediocre. The Po Boys are good, but nothing special, and they are quite heavy (thick/fat sauces). The sweet potato fries are worth trying.. they're better than the regular fries.
I was recommended the blackened chicken and wasn't impressed by it.. it was too tasteless. The Andouilli sausage was good (probably the best one I tried), Philly cheese steak OK, Bayou burger good.
They either brew their own beer, have it specially made, or just have an unconventional selection. It's good, but really not as amazing as everyone makes it out to be. My favorite is the Chili Lager.. it packs a punch.
I've been three or four times. Nearly every time I've been I was disappointed with the service. Either you're waiting forever for a table/, or the waitresses are impatient... to top it off the place is way too small. It has a very 'diner' like feel to it.
